ABOUT
Artist and architect Alexander (Axel) Häusler comes from the same hometown Ingolstadt and has been a friend of the band for many years. Apart from that Axel and the band share a common artistic view and taste. This led to Axel initiating the basic style for the artwork for the first single FOR THE SOUL THERE IS NO HOSPITAL. He created a concept ´ and photographed the band for all other communication media. Axel is a “globetrotter” who has made a long stop in his home town of Ingolstadt after years in New York, Boston and Munich. His work oscillates between art and architecture, which he likes to confuse. In both disciplines, the human body is the central theme in space and time for him: “We are always somehow in space and move or rest in time. The room composition in which we move creates a very special mood that affects us, almost like in music. ”
With his installations, paintings and photographs, he studies and shows the temporality and fragility of the relationship between the viewer and his immediate surroundings. In long-term exposures in front of his black depth paintings, the people paint themselves from the room onto the picture surface and thereby release new forms and expressions. In his installations, paintings and drawings, egg-shaped structures that he derives from the range of movement often come back. These can also be found on the hand-drawn T-shirts, where they trace the felt position of the lungs as an air bubble. “With the Corona virus we become aware of this organ again. It is the outside that we have in us, exchange, take in the outside. There is the "breath", the breath of life and there you used to suspect the soul. " Alexander Häusler's artistic and architectural works have already been shown at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and at the Harvard Center in front of Visual Arts. A few years ago Matthias Neuburger (ex-drummer Slut) curated a large exhibition with his works in Ingolstadt.
